2023 Season
In 2023, we continue our commissioning project within our CCSL lunchtime concert series: The Caccini Circle. Named after the Baroque composing and singing sensation, Francesca Caccini (1587 - 1640), the Sydney Bach Society is commissioning four Australian women to create new works that take their inspiration from Baroque repertory.
Award winning composers Jane Sheldon, Keyna Wilkins, Georgia Scott and Aristea Mellos will compose new works for some of Australia's most prominent musicians including, the Marais Project, pianists Erin Helyard & Stephanie McCallum, violinist Christina Lieberwirth-Morris, and our resident duo: classical guitarist Dr Josinaldo Costa, and violinist Timothy Lee. The new works will be premiered throughout the Sydney Bach Society's 2022 and 2023 seasons.
We're inviting all our friends and patrons to join our circle of new art. For just $25, you can help us reach our $2,000 fundraising goal that will make these spectacular events possible. As a donor, you will receive:
reserved/priority seating at our Caccini Circle events
free downloads to recordings released on the Xenofone label (so that you can listen to our Sydney Bach Society artists wherever you are)
be acknowledged as a donor on our website and in our printed materials
receive a postcard from one of our musicians on the 'Bach in the Gardens' tours
